As you are about to give the LIC AAO exam you must follow few of the last moment strategies.
First and most important strategy is, Do reverse study.
Earlier you were reading or learning the formulas and solving the questions on the paper. Now do it reverse. Read all the solved questions and understand the tricks involved is the solution. Then write down the formula used.
For example, in the question
Ques. A man gains the selling price of 13 dozen of mangoes by selling 39 dozen of mangoes. Find the gain percent.
You can see that the trick here is simply you have to find out the Cost Price equivalent of the mangoes in dozen.
Since it is given in the question that
Gain equivalent = 13 dozen
Selling Price equivalent = 39 dozen.
Therefore Cost price equivalent = Selling Price – Gain = 39 – 13 = 26 dozen.
As the Gain Percentage is taken on the base of Cost price, so the formula is
Gain Percentage = Gain*100/Cost Price = 13*100/26 = 50%
Now to reduce your time in the exam, you must learn the combined formula
i.e Gain Percentage = Gain*100/CP or Gain*100/[Selling Price – Gain]
So the formula Gain% = Gain*100/[Selling Price – Gain]
Write is down and learn it. It will reduce your 10 to 15 seconds in the exam.
Revise by heart every question asked in previous year papers.
Be it your 10th/12th board exams, your graduation paper or any competitive exam, believe me, usually 70% of the paper questions or patterns are repeated from previous years. This is because the syllabus is limited and tricks are limited but unlimited questions are made just by changing data or tricks from one question to other.
Studying only those questions saves a huge amount of time and efforts, and gives you the confidence that you have covered a major part of the syllabus.
Sometimes you get a separate book dedicated for previous year solved question papers; if you haven’t studied anything at all, just buy that book and read it, revise it and jot learn it. This funda works for everyone who takes out the book in the last moments.
Know the Cutoffs
Knowing the cutoffs helps you to decide what is the boundary line of getting in or remain out.
If you cross the boundary to get inside the selection criteria, the rest is your hard work. Your hard work will decide your rank. But knowing cutoff will help you know whether you will be selected or not.
So, here is the cutoff of 2015 LIC AAO exam with 100 vacancies.
Here is the cutoff of 2013 LIC AAO exam with 750 vacancies.
You can see there is not much difference. So you can easily predict, the cutoffs for 2016 which will be not much different that these scores.
Expected cutoff of 2016 LIC AAO exam with 700 vacancies.
